Building a Community Garden with Legrand

In partnership with Legrand, North and Central America's Better Communities employee volunteer program, Northridge High School is constructing a new community garden and outdoor learning space for students and members of the community, as part of a senior high school project!

As part of Legrand's Better Schools focus and alignment with the Center for Green School's mission, we will be working with students and faculty to bring this community garden to life, funded with the help of Legrand employee donations. In addition to constructing the garden itself, Legrand employees will get the opportunity to teach students about sustainability through the development of this plot of land and beyond.

The first GADOS to take place on October 19th will be a ribbon cutting ceremony with our sponsored teacher and senior high school student. We will be building plant beds and preparing the land. Over the winter the students will plan the seeds inside and care for them. This coming Spring we will have another GADOS taking the plants outside to start the garden process. Stay tuned for more updates!
