Farm2School / Greco Middle School Community Composting

May 06, 2019

Tampa Bay Farm2School.com is currently working with Greco STEM students to build a compost system at the community garden located on school property. Tampa Bay Farm2School is hosting and will provide management of this new community soil making site. The compost bins are a project of Greco STEM students. USF School of Architecture and Community Design students are assisting to build the compost system. The short and long-term purpose of the compost site is to serve as a teaching tool for students as well as a source of soil for the gardens. Soil contributors will sign up on the www.MakeSoil.org website by clicking on the Farm2School/Greco icon on the map. We anticipate participation from community gardeners, neighbors who walk the public track in the evenings located next to the community garden and students bringing food scraps from the cafeteria.
