Repair, improve, and maintain trails and gardens of Ford Elementary School. Ford Elementary is a Gold Level Green Ribbon School. Learning happens in the outdoors. The project work on Green Apple Day of Service will be implemented into all of the outdoor classrooms, nearly one half-acre of vegetable garden beds, a nature trail along headwaters of Allatoona Creek in the Coosa Watershed, Monarch and Pollinator gardens, Georgia Regions Garden, numerous school yard habitat projects installed by our 4th graders. Specific work needs are clearing over grown summer crops and grasses from Garden beds. The laying of mulch around garden beds. Laying of mulch to the nature trail and outdoor classroom there. Cutting and clearing of down and dead material on the nature trail. Cleaning of the primary grade Children's Garden and outdoor classroom. Adding soil and amendments to garden beds in preparation for the school year lessons and planting. Laying of mulch in the common area near pollinator gardens. The cleaning out of the school garden shed.
