Winter Community Harvest
Students and volunteers will harvest organic herbs, vegetables and cane to be bundled and distributed to the greater El Monte Community. Produce will include herbs and veggies typically featured in Mexican holiday dishes. All volunteers will receive their own harvest bundle to take home as well as snacks/water during the event. Volunteers and students will learn the importance of local food systems, organic regenerative farming practices and how to reduce landfill waste when cooking using composting.
