School-Wide Recycling Education and Green Building Assessment

December 20, 2019

We will have a month of recycling and composting education with all six of our classrooms, including reading books, facilitating discussion, and practice sorting recyclables, compostables and trash according to our local guidelines. This month will culminate with our Dec. 4th Green Apple Day of Service, where our Environmental Interns and our Environmental Education staff will lead a day of activities focused on recycling and reuse, including a maker-space robot made of recycled materials and making recycled paper.
At the same time, we will be collecting data for input into the ARCSKORU platform to assess our school's green building measures and human experience related to transportation and building comfort. We will be conducting air and water quality tests through partnerships with professionals in the field.
